97 Gold Takes Six Points On Charlotte Trip

The Jammers traveled to Charlotte to play two games last Saturday (September 26th) and won them both.

In the morning game, the Jammers defeated CUFC Birmingham 2-1 in a come from behind victory. The Jammers found themselves down 1-0 at the half due to lackluster play for the first thirty minutes. The second half was a different story, as the Jammers pressed the action and created opportunities. Two second half goals by Enrique Gudino were enough for the Jammers to get the win.

The afternoon game was against CSA Cabarrus Elite. The Jammers struggled to find a rhythm early in the match and found themselves behind 1-0 in the first ten minutes. The Jammers settled down at the midway point of the first half and were ahead 2-1 at halftime on two goals by Enrique Gudino. The second half was dominated by the Jammers, as they moved the ball around nicely and got everyone involved. The final score was 6-1, as goals were added by Austin West, Noah Melton, Will Lennie and Nick Lugo.

The Jammers continue league play against KSA this Saturday (October 3rd) at Beeson Park at 10:30am.

Jammers Win Big Match Against KSA

The Jamestown Jammers made the short trip to Beeson Park on Saturday October 3rd to play KSA in a match that featured two unbeaten teams. In the first half, KSA forced most of the action. KSA hit the post about ten minutes into the match and were denied by the Jammers goalie, Will Lennie, on a few other scoring opportunities. The Jammers struggled to find any rhythm and were fortunate to be tied 0-0 at halftime. The Jammers had more energy in the second half and began to play with a sense of urgency. The Jammers started to win the 50/50 balls and create opportunities. As a result, the Jammers were rewarded ten minutes into the second half, as Enrique Gudino broke behind the defense and slotted the go ahead goal into the back of the net. The Jammers continued to press the action and increased the lead to 2-0 on a goal by Chanc Coplin. The Jammers finished off the scoring with Enrique Gudino converting a penalty kick with five minutes remaining to make the final score 3-0. The Jammers defensive backs deserve a lot of credit for this victory, as they shut down the KSA’s forwards who were averaging about 4 goals a game. The Jammers' defensive backs consist of Connor Criscoe, Mitch Salers, Dylan Phillips, Trevor Harwood, and Andrew Gomez.

The Jammers travel to BB&T to play The Twins this Saturday, October 10th, at 10:30am.
